    RESTORATION

    BIBLE BASIS: JEREMIAH 31:31–37

    BIBLE TRUTH: Jeremiah assures the people that God will make a new covenant with God’s people that will nurture and equip them for the present and the future.

    MEMORY VERSE: “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah” (Jeremiah31:31).

    LESSON AIM: By the end of the lesson, your students will:
    – KNOW God’s new covenant to reveal Himself to all the people, forgive their sins, and hold them accountable;
    – SENSE the relief and joy that come from starting over in agreement with someone; and
    – MAKE PLANS for renewing our personal covenant with God.

    A VISION OF THE FUTURE

    BIBLE BASIS: Jeremiah 30:1-3, 18-22

    BIBLE TRUTH: God’s promise to restore the fortunes of the people, Israel and Judah, and to reestablish the covenant with them.

    MEMORY VERSE: “For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it” (Jeremiah 30:3)

    LESSON AIM: By the end of the lesson, we will:

    • REVIEW God’s written promise to restore the people and the land of Israel and Judah as of old
    • IMAGINE and EXPRESS the feelings of safety in a community that has great promise for the future; and
    • PLAN a way to invite people who are not part of the covenant community to become members of the church and Sunday School

    • FEEL the need to heal estrangement within the church fellowship;  and
    • ARTICULATE ways to end any misunderstandings and estrangements and
