    MEMORY VERSE:  1 Corinthians 6:19 “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

    LESSON AIM: By the end of the lesson, we will:

    • RECALL the Apostle Paul’s comparison of the body to a temple
    • RECOGNIZE how as Christians we’re called to keep our bodies pure
    • RESOLVE to promote and practice personal, moral and physical purity as part of the Body of Christ

    BIBLE BASIS: Haggai 2:23; Zechariah 4:1–3,  6–14

     

    BIBLE TRUTH: The Spirit of God is the  source of our success.

     

     

    MEMORY VERSE: “Then he answered and  spake unto me, saying, !is is the word of  the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by  might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith  the LORD of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).

     

    LESSON AIM: By the end of the lesson, we  will:

    • ACKNOWLEDGE the connection  between God’s promises to Israel for  rebuilding the Temple and the Israelites’  obedience to Him;
    • APPRECIATE the  community’s restoration of the Temple  and God’s restoration of the people; and
    • ARTICULATE our thankfulness to God  for the blessings bestowed upon us for our  obedience.

    1. Identify who set the ultimate example of acceptance.
    2. Contrast the Christian concept of empowerment with secular concepts of that term.
    3. Suggest a way to react to a common failing of new Christians (“the weak”).
