Deborah, the Dutiful Judge

BIBLE BASIS  Judges 4:4–10, 14, 21–22

MEMORY VERSE  “And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment” (Judges 4:4–5).

LESSON AIM  By the end of the lesson, we will:

(1) Summarize Deborah’s role in the defeat of Sisera.

(2) Explain how Deborah demonstrated faithfulness in difficult circumstances.

(3) State one way to follow Deborah’s example of heeding God’s call to serve others.
