A MODEL FOR PRAYER

BIBLE BASIS: Luke 11:1-13

BIBLE TRUTH: Jesus teaches that nurturing a relationship with God requires persistent prayer

MEMORY VERSE: “And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth” (Luke 11:2)

LESSON AIM: By the end of the lesson, we will:

• UNDERSTAND the Lord’s Prayer as a model for praying various kinds of prayer
• ACCEPT the need for constant prayer; and
• DEVELOP a more disciplined prayer life as a means of growing a relationship with God
